Depth - Definition Post

Dictionary definition: a dimension taken through an object or body of material, usually downward from an upper surface, horizontally inward from an outer surface, or from top to bottom of something regarded as one of several layers.

Depth is shown in this photograph, through the clear spider web and the blurry background. This ensures that the focal point is made clear, as well as that, in this photograph, the focal point of this photograph is central.

In this photograph, through the focused chain and the blurry background. The composition of diagonals is used in this image which guides the viewer into looking at the focal point.

Depth is shown through the clear wire with the raindrops, and the blurry background of someones face. This photograph is very effective because of the way you can see the face clearly in the raindrops but blurry in the background.

In this photograph, depth is used well as the piano keys are clear at the front of the image but get more and more blurry. 


My own definition: Depth is when the idea of deepness is shown in a photograph.
