Dictionary Definition: The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.

  • Colourful
  • Pale
  • Light
  • Vibrant
  • Monotone
  • Contrasting

In this photograph, bright colours have been used with the composition of converging lines. The contrast of the buildings to its surroundings makes the colour stand out. The shadows give the photograph a more 3d effect.

In this photograph, colour is used in every aspect; the focal point of the photograph and the background. The dynamic colours of the bird makes this photograph stand out as well as the blurred yet colourful background.

The contrast of bright colours to the grey, dull background makes this picture look more interesting and dynamic. The use of raindrops in this photograph makes it look more realistic and 3d.

In this photograph, there is not much colour, but it is still effective. The contrast between the grey and the colour makes the colour stick out more and draws attention to itself. The central composition is also effective as it shows the focal point of the photograph to be the center of attention.

My own definition of colour: Colour is one or a mixture of a component where light is separated from a variety or rainbow.
