Tone - Work Diary

In this session we had to set out camera setting so they shot black and white photographs and then we had to go out and take pictures of tone. I found this task easy because once the camera setting is on black and white is it much easier to photography tone.

I believe that this is my best picture because not only does it show tone but it also has colour on it as well. The composition of this photograph is rule of thirds which gives the image a more dramatical look. I also really like the patterns in this photograph, because although it is quite subtle it gives the image great effect and detail and also greats a 3d effect.

In this photograph, tone is used very well because it give the image a dramatic effect due to the black and white colour scheme. I also really like the composition because it is off-centre and it creates mystery in this photograph. Lines are used very well in this image because of the fact there are many different ones that go in many directions for example, the horizontal lines on the wall contrasts with the vertical lines on the door which contrasts with the diagonal line of the handle.

If I were to photograph tone again I would photograph more landscape photographs because they seem to look better when you are showing off tone. I also believe that photographing people with the theme of tone would look good. Furthermore I could try and take more central photographs of central objects and they look very effective. I could take inspiration from these photographs.
