Movement - Work Diary

In this session we had to photograph movement, I found this task quite difficult because it consists of photographing what is not actually there. Also, we could only photograph movement inside which made the task harder. After we photographed, we had to edit our best ones using curves and lines, this makes our photographs have a better contrast and made the lighting of the image more bright.

I believe that this is my best image because it shows off movement very well. The photograph is blurred but it still shows off what is going on in the photograph and shows off that movement is occurring. I like the use of colour in this image because it is bold and shows off the picture more.

This is another image I took of movement. I believe that it turned out quite well because although it shows off movement, you can still see what the photograph is supposed to be off. If I were to improve this photograph I would change the background because although the use of movement is done well, the photograph doesn't look professional.

If I were to photograph movement again I would try and show movement through light drawing. I would also try and photograph more exciting things as we were limited because we could only photograph inside and I believe the photographs would have turned out better if we did the shoot in the studio instead. Movement is shown in this photograph through movement and water droplets in the background. The movement in the images gives it the effect of the dog shaking. 

Movement is shown in this photograph through the repetition of a dancer in different positions. The effect of this photograph shows monument in an unique and different way.

Movement is shown through blur in this photograph, the object shows a variety of different colours all merged together. The black background give the photograph and more dramatic and dynamic effect.

Movement is shown in this photograph through light drawings, the black background makes the light stand out more which gives the image a more dramatic effect.

Movement is shown in this photograph through the blurred wings of an owl, although the background is also blurred, it gives the photograph the effect that it is moving fast because the wings are blurred into the background of the image.

My Own Definition: Movement in photograph is when the photograph is blurred which give the image the effect of motion.

Movement is a good aspect of photography if you want to capture motion. In the pictures above motion is shown through blurs. Using motion in photography makes the image look more dynamic and 3d. In the photographs above, movement is shown through blurring, water and repetition.
