Robert Mapplethorpe was an American photographer, most famously known for his highly stylized black and white photographs. Mapplethorpe has an amazing way of capturing portraiture by most commonly shooting in black and white which gives the images a 3d effect. The composition of his photographs are also very impressive because although he doesn't use all of the space available the way he uses space is effective.
Mapplethorpe uses space in this image very well.

In some of his photographs he also uses the element of movement.

Mapplethorpe mostly does portraiture photography in his work.

He uses contrast in his photography, mostly between colours.

Reflection is used in some of work, this is very effective as it makes his images look more 3d.

Multiple Imagery - Image Bank

Multiple Imagery can be done in a number of way as shown in the photographs above, such as many images put next to each other in a square or putting to images on top of each other. Multiple Imagery can be used to show of a subject from different angles and it can also be used to show movement. It is an effective way to edit a photograph because it is simplistic yet unique.
Multiple imagery can be done in many ways as you can see from this image, it is done by using the same photographs but cropping some parts and putting them onto the original image.

Multiple imagery can also be done by putting loads of images together and making a new picture.

This image is done by taking two photographs and putting them on top of each other, this is another creative way to do multiple imagery.

The easiest way to do multiple imagery is to take similar pictures and putting them next to each other. Although this is the simplest  way, it can look very effective.

Multiple imagery can also be done by taking similar photographs and then overlapping them, this creates a sense of movement.

Furthermore, another way to do multiple imagery is to take the outline of one photograph and then fill it with a completely different one, this is a very effective way to photograph.

Contrast - Image Bank

Contrast is a very important aspect of photography as it makes photographs more dynamic and eye-catching. Contrast is used to direct the viewers attention to the focal point of the image. Contrast is also used to improve the composition of a photograph. Contrast can be used with both colour and black and white images, although when the colours are opposite the contrast is the image is much brighter.

Contrast can be shown through the use of reflection, in this image there is a contrast between two bold colour which makes the reflection stand out more.

It can also be shown through the use of light, in this image the brightness of the light is contrasted with the background.

In this image contrast is shown in a natural environment, there is a contrast between the bright clear blur lake and the dull floor.

In this image contrast is shown through everyday objects. The contrast is obvious between the dark red apple and the bright green apples.

Contrast is shown in the image between the colourful, bright sky and the almost black background.

This black and white image shows contrast very well because of the colours used, which are the exact opposite, this makes the image stand out more.

Back Of Head Portraiture - Image Bank

Back of head portrait has been popular for a long time, as you can see from this old image.

This picture is very effective because of the patterns created in the woman's hair due to the fact of her hair being wet.

This back of head portraiture has a scenery is the background, this is effective because it looks appealing.

This photograph uses tone, which is very effective because it looks more 3d and realistic.

This back of head portraiture uses depth, which shows off distance, it also gives the photograph a 3d effect.

This picture is very effective because of the shape of the canvas; this really draws attention to the back of head portrait.

Back of head portraiture is when somebody photographs the back of someones head. This is effective way of doing portraiture because is does not focus on the features of the face. Typically, someones eyes would be in the centre of the photograph because it is the most noticeable feature of a persons face, but photographing the back of somebody's head creates the sense of mystery and also that the person in the photographs is looking backwards.

Photo Joiner - Image Bank

Photo joiner is a good effect that can be used in photography, it is when lots of individual photographs are put together. To do photo joiner you have to stand in one place and take photographs of an object or person about 40-50 times at different angles and zoom, then you have to put all of the photographs together to make an abstract and unique photograph.
