Contrast - Image Bank
Contrast is a very important aspect of photography as it makes photographs more dynamic and eye-catching. Contrast is used to direct the viewers attention to the focal point of the image. Contrast is also used to improve the composition of a photograph. Contrast can be used with both colour and black and white images, although when the colours are opposite the contrast is the image is much brighter.
Contrast can be shown through the use of reflection, in this image there is a contrast between two bold colour which makes the reflection stand out more.
It can also be shown through the use of light, in this image the brightness of the light is contrasted with the background.
In this image contrast is shown in a natural environment, there is a contrast between the bright clear blur lake and the dull floor.
In this image contrast is shown through everyday objects. The contrast is obvious between the dark red apple and the bright green apples.
Contrast is shown in the image between the colourful, bright sky and the almost black background.
This black and white image shows contrast very well because of the colours used, which are the exact opposite, this makes the image stand out more.
